Workiva Sponsors RegTech Data Summit 2018 to Define the Future of Regulatory Technology Policy

Summit will Highlight Ways Standardized Data Improves Efficiency and Transparency to Reduce Compliance Burden

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Workiva (NYSE:WK), a leading provider of solutions for enterprise productivity, will play a key role in today’s RegTech Data Summit 2018, an inaugural event hosted by the Data Coalition, that will connect leaders from government agencies, Congress, regulated industries and technology companies to define the future of Regulatory Technology (RegTech) policy.

“We strongly support the efforts of the Data Coalition to streamline regulatory compliance for companies and government agencies,” said Matt Rizai, Chairman and CEO of Workiva. “Workiva has helped thousands of companies save time and money by automating business data processes, and we want to help government agencies realize the same benefits.”

Conference attendees will hear from more than 25 speakers from government agencies, as well as RegTech advocates and technology experts. Sessions will focus on ways government and industry can work together to leverage technology to enable automation, reduce fraud, cut compliance costs and improve analytics.

Attendees will discuss recent policy initiatives including the Financial Transparency Act and its role in defining a new RegTech industry and generating opportunities for emerging technologies. Break-out sessions will demonstrate how software solutions can combine data and regulatory requirements to address today’s compliance challenges facing government, regulators and industries.

“The U.S. regulatory compliance structure is fragmented by industry and by purpose, making RegTech difficult to deploy,” said Hudson Hollister, Executive Director of the Data Coalition. “By adopting the right standards, we can enable RegTech solutions to flourish and make regulatory filings more efficient, transparent and useful for everyone who generates, collects and uses them.”
